Dinosaur treasure hunt
This dinosaur treasure hunt combines adventure, knowledge and lots of fun! As parents, you can make sure that everything runs smoothly at each station and give the children little hints if necessary. This will make the birthday party a complete success!
The dinosaur treasure hunt has seven stations. The children must always answer a question from the dinosaur quiz correctly in order to receive a new clue as to where the next station with a task is waiting.
Necessary equipment
- Dino World glow-in-the-dark stickers or your child's dinosaurs + torches
- Dino puzzle (50 pieces) or another puzzle
- Dino colouring pages (PDF)
- Pens (here: dinosaur-themed pens on Amazon)
- Dino name tags (PDF)
- Dino Galaxy excavation set (Amazon) or other treasure to dig up
- Small shovels or brushes
Preparation for parents
- Darken a room (e.g. by covering the windows) and stick Dino World Glow in the Dark Stickers on the walls, floor and furniture. (You can also use your child's collection of dinosaurs (figurines, cuddly toys) and hand out torches at this station).
- Put a sign on the room saying ‘The dark room in the Triassic period’.
- Spread the pieces of the Dino World puzzle (or another puzzle) on a table. Alternatively, you can hide them in a specific area and the children have to find them first.
- Print out the dinosaur colouring pages.
- Lay out the colouring pages with pens on a table where all the children can sit.
- Print out the dinosaur name tags and prepare them with the guests' names (these are also provided in the PDF).
- Hide the dinosaur eggs (or another treasure) in the sand in a sandpit.
- Provide small shovels and brushes.
Off to the next excavation site
Your birthday treasure hunt
Every good treasure hunt starts with an exciting story! "Many millions of years ago, when mighty dinosaurs ruled the earth, there was a mystical dinosaur treasure that held ancient secrets of prehistoric times. But the treasure was hidden long ago, and only the bravest and wisest explorers can find it. You are now the chosen ones who must find this treasure. Each of you must become a brave dino adventurer and complete tricky tasks to gather clues, travel through the different dino eras, and finally discover the lost dino treasure. Do you know the eras? They are called the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods."
“We are in the early Triassic period, when the first small dinosaurs appeared. Your journey begins now! Are you ready?”
